The waters off Long Beach Island are well known for their local artificial reefs. These reefs and wrecks are home to Fluke (Flounder), Black Seabass, Tautog (Blackfish) and more. In the spring & fall months we focus on the Striper (Striped Bass) migration that goes right by our front door. These are the common species that we typically target. In the later summer months, there is the occasional chance of seeing fish like Mahi, Bonito, False Albacore, Cobia & Spanish Mackerel when water temps in our area reach the high 70’s.
As you push a little further offshore, you can experience the beauty & difficulty of chasing bluefin tuna when they are crashing bait on the surface. We also focus on live bait/dead bait and jigging when the yellowfin tuna starts to move in from further offshore. This will generally happen later in the summer with late July-September typically being the best shot for the yellowfin. In many of the recent seasons the bluefin have showed themselves from spring-winter. Call us to discuss what trip is best for you and your group!
